[ 00 ] Process

How an engagement actually runs

Six steps, each ending in a named, concrete artifact — not a slide of four icon circles labelled Discover, Design, Build, Launch.

[ 02 ] LADDER

Process

  1. 01

    Brief

Artifact: a scoped one-page brief, signed off by you

You tell us what you need and what "done" looks like — business context, audience, constraints. We turn it into a one-page brief before any price is finalised for bespoke scope, or before a fixed package's kickoff for a published tier.

  2. 02

    Kickoff

Artifact: a written audit or scope sheet, depending on the service

Daniel reviews the brief personally and delivers a working document before design starts — an audit for UX and e-commerce engagements, a scope sheet for website and branding work. It's useful on its own, even if you didn't proceed with us.

  3. 03

    Direction

Artifact: 2–3 concept directions or a signed-off information architecture, service-dependent

The first real design decisions are made here and shown to you with rationale, not a single option presented as the only answer.

  4. 04

    Build

Artifact: versioned drafts, reviewed on the schedule stated at kickoff

Design and build run against the timeline agreed at kickoff, with a fixed number of revision rounds stated on your tier card.

  5. 05

    Review

Artifact: a review round against the original brief, not a fresh critique

Feedback is checked against what was actually scoped at kickoff — this is what keeps a fixed-price engagement fixed.

  6. 06

    Handover

Artifact: source files, a plain-language usage guide, and — for subscriptions — the next request slot reopening automatically

You receive what you were promised on the tier card, in a format you can actually use without us in the room.

The person running this process is the person you'll talk to

Daniel founded dandesigner in Berlin-Spandau in 2019. He reads every brief personally before it becomes a scope sheet, runs every kickoff call, and signs every case study on this site. For work outside his own hands-on capacity — development, motion, copy — he brings in a small, vetted network of collaborators, scoped per project. There's no account-manager layer between you and the person doing the work.

Email support@dandesigner.com or call +49 175 4133702 — Daniel replies within one business day, in person, not through a support queue.
